In Narayanganj's Fatulla, the court awarded the death sentence to an adulterous lover in the case of killing one-year-old child Maryam due to extramarital love. The child's mother has also been sentenced to life imprisonment.
Apart from this, the court awarded a fine of 50 thousand taka to both of them and another 6 months' imprisonment without work. In another section, these two people have been sentenced to 7 years imprisonment and a fine of 50 thousand rupees and in default of payment, 6 months of unpaid work.
Narayanganj District and Sessions Judge First Court Justice Umm Saraban Tahura gave this verdict on Sunday (February 26) afternoon.
Solaiman, who was sentenced to death, is the son of Lichu Akand of Motherganj area of Jamalpur. The mother of the child sentenced to death is Bilkis, daughter of Naya Howladar of Galachipar area of Patuakhali.
