Police have recovered the body of a young man named Sheikh Parvez Mia a day after he went missing from the Brahmaputra river in Narayanganj's Sonargaon.
The body was recovered from Harihardi area of the upazila on Tuesday (August 31) at noon.
The deceased was identified as Parvez Mia, son of Sheikh Jasim Uddin of Musharchar village.
Narayanganj Additional Superintendent of Police (B-Zone) Sheikh Billal Hossain, quoting relatives of the deceased, said locals saw his body floating on Tuesday afternoon and informed the police. Police later came to the spot and recovered the body.
He said the body was recovered and sent to Narayanganj Sadar General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
