Two persons were killed in a road accident at Araihazar upazila in Narayanganj district on Friday.
The accident happened in Purinda area on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in the morning.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
According to police and locals, a cargo truck broke down near Purinda. At that time, the driver and helper of the truck were fixing it standing on the side of the road. Suddenly, their hydraulic jack broke and the truck fell on them. The two died on the spot.
Bhulta Highway Police TI Ashraf said the bodies have been recovered. Efforts are underway to identify the deceased.
